About the role:

We are seeking a Testing & Commissioning Engineer, Substations for work on our Level Crossing Removal projects.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Carry-out Infrastructure test sequences, either by self-performing and/or by supervising the T&C subcontractors
  • Ensure the tests are performed as per the Substation Testing & Commissioning program
  • Ensure that testing is performed to the relevant standards and that testing equipment is compliant with local legislations
  • Support the Project Manager in the management of T&C subcontractors
  • Accurately maintain the testing equipment materials and instruments list as per the T&C schedule
  • Carry out tests as per the Site Quality Plan and coordinate on site with other T&C teams
  • Ensure the tests are performed and recorded as per updated procedures and prepare red line drawings
  • Report the progress of the T&C activities allocated (including subcontractor activities if applicable)
  • Carry out correlation checks / verification on existing substation systems
 To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Knowledge of overall railway systems, and more specifically HV electrical systems
  • Testing and commissioning experience of railway projects, particularly 1500V DC systems
  • Understanding of local regulations and professional VIC standards
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
