Based in Brisbane, the Agile Business Analyst is responsible for managing the interface between the business and IT for the delivery of enterprise solutions. To succeed in this role, you will be a highly motivated, passionate, and ambitious team player who can adapt to changes and seeks to continually improve the way they and their teams work.

Working within a dedicated team of industry professionals, this position is hands on and will be the key to assist in transforming business requirement into technical deliverables in both Agile and DevOps Design Thinking practices.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

As an Agile Business Analyst, you will be:

  • Working collaboratively with business stakeholders in requirement elicitation;
  • Working collaboratively with delivery team to ensure the requirement are well understood and the solutions meet business requirements;
  • Supplementing the story cards/business requirement with Process Maps, Flows and Story Boards;
  • Driving, validating and prioritising initiative scope with the Product Owner and Delivery Lead;
  • Assisting with triaging and prioritisation of production incidents and small enhancements. These will at times be hands-on with problem solving solutions within projects or supporting existing technology;
  • Be accountable for the squad’s correct estimation, planning, and timely delivery;
  • Ensuring Discovery, Inceptions and releases happen at the right time and with the right outcome;
  • Maintaining good product backlog health;
  • Clearing impediments prevent disruption and ensure continuous flow of work;
  • Supporting the Delivery Lead to maintain accurate and timely governance and oversight of the delivery progress, Sprint report, risks, issues and dependencies against the agreed outcomes of the work; 
  • Facilitating design discussions in-line with architecture strategy and Shell’s future roadmap; and
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and/or innovation in both solution and process design.

What you’ll bring

This role will suit a highly motivated, passionate, and aspiring team player who can adapt to an evolving organisation and seeks to continually improve the way they work. The following attributes are also required:

  • Innovative and questioning nature to explore ideas and prototype solutions;
  • An interest in business solution development with an understanding of design principles and technology solution architecture;
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging agile and design thinking approaches and coaching stakeholders to ensure adoption;
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills as well as a firm grasp on the latest technology trends globally;
  • Experience in the analysis of both business processes and the design of technology-based solutions;
  • Extensive knowledge and effective in running discovery and workshop sessions with teams and business stakeholders;
  • Extensive background creating research and design artefacts, such as user personas, journey maps, wireframes/sketches, and prototypes;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; and
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
