Sydney has been chosen as the location for the Clean Energy Finance Corporation.

The city was selected by the Federal Government because of its strong clean energy sector and network of financial, legal and professional services as well as its optimal location for servicing a national client base.

The $10 billion Clean Energy Finance Corporation will make investments in businesses seeking funds to commercialise innovative clean energy proposals and technologies.

It will also invest in the transformation of existing manufacturing businesses to re-focus on making inputs for the clean energy sector.

Locating the Clean Energy Finance Corporation in Sydney's financial sector hub will help build partnerships with lenders and investors.

The Corporation will be able to draw on higher education and research and development facilities across NSW, including the CSIRO Energy Centre and the University of NSW School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering.
