Alinta Energy may bolster its renewable energy capabilities through the acquisition of Tetris Energy, a Melbourne-based developer with a 3.4 gigawatt early-stage project portfolio.

Reports say a new deal looms after Alinta's $1.7 billion divestiture of its Pilbara assets to APA Group six months ago.

The alleged deal would see Alinta expanding its renewable footprint by integrating Tetris Energy's projects, including the notable 600 megawatt Ceduna wind and solar project in South Australia.

Outbidding competitors like Beijing Jingneng Clean Energy, Alinta's acquisition could give it a competitive edge in the renewable sector, reinforced by legal support from Allens.
