About the Opportunity
As the Wellbeing Manager, you will design and deliver a company-wide wellbeing framework aimed at improving the physical, mental, emotional, and social wellbeing of our workforce. In addition, you will lead injury prevention programs, early intervention strategies, and manage the workers' compensation process to support employee health and safety. Your role will foster a culture of proactive wellbeing management by working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure a comprehensive approach.
You will develop and implement a Wellbeing Framework that covers all aspects of employee health, while promoting a culture that prioritises wellbeing through educational programs, communication, and engagement. Leading a team, you will ensure best practice in injury management, overseeing workers' compensation, claims management, and return-to-work processes. You will partner with senior leaders, the People & Culture team, and external experts to integrate wellbeing initiatives across SAPN's operations, using data-driven metrics to monitor effectiveness and make necessary adjustments. Additionally, you will manage external support services, such as Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), health contracts, and drug & alcohol testing providers, and define the organisation's approach to managing psychosocial risk through education and risk assessment tools.
What You Bring
As the Wellbeing Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving health and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation, collaborating closely with Senior Leaders to ensure wellbeing strategies align with business objectives while working with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to promote a culture of wellbeing and secure organisation-wide commitment. You'll also partner with the People & Culture Team to embed wellbeing initiatives into the company culture and engage with external experts and regulatory bodies like Return to Work SA and SafeWork SA to maintain compliance and apply industry best practices.
This position requires highly developed knowledge of Safety Management and Workers’ Compensation, strong leadership and team management skills, and excellent project management and analytical capabilities. Effective stakeholder management and communication abilities are essential, along with negotiation and strategic thinking skills. Candidates must possess a tertiary qualification in Safety or a related field and/or equivalent experience, a valid SA Driver’s License (Class C), and a willingness to travel intrastate and interstate as required, as well as the ability to work outside normal hours when necessary.
