About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our team. As a core member at the forefront of the renewable energy market’s evolution, you will be an integral member of the senior leadership team, working closely with both the CEO and COO to lead the company’s expansion and growth in the Distributed Energy Resources revolution.

In this capacity, your Key Responsibilities include:

• Identifying feasible Virtual Power Plant opportunities, including trials, programs and initiatives in all states and territories in Australia;
• Engaging and driving strategic partnerships with key industry stakeholders, including policy makers, industry associations, government agencies and DNSPs for potential project collaborations;
• Developing and managing portfolios of projects with key industry stakeholders;
• Exploring and identifying commercial opportunities from government initiatives and incentives; and
• Establishing VPP competitive outcomes and promoting Discover Energy’s brand.

Skills & Experience

• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within the Energy space (prior working relationship with DNSPs, AEMO, ARENA and/or CEFC will be highly regarded);
• Good understanding of the regulatory landscape with sound knowledge of up-to-date industry and governmental developments and policy changes;
• Proven track record of winning and developing new businesses with the ability to provide examples of successful projects;
• High level of consulting, influencing interpersonal and communication skills with strong determination to achieve results; and
• Ability to multi-task effectively, think critically and take initiatives.
