Azure DevOps Engineer

  • Ongoing, Full-time role
  • Remuneration : $120,240 plus 15% superannuation
  • Business Unit: Business Systems Division

We are looking for a driven and agile individual who is passionate about technology and has superb communication skills to join our Enterprise Solutions team as our Azure DevOps Engineer.

The Opportunity

The Enterprise Solutions Group (ESG) provides the services and support required to maintain the integrity, availability, security and privacy of business systems and information. Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, administer and support Microsoft Azure environments.

Some Key Specifics of the role

Working with the ESG Manager, you will provide systems engineering services for the ActewAGL infrastructure environment by owning the following key responsibilities:

  • Provisioning, migration, deployment and ongoing support of workloads in Azure
  • Manage access etc. with keen awareness of security standard methodologies
  • Develop automation scripts that enable management of the Azure environment
  • Design, implement and administer Azure environments supporting large mission critical enterprise systems
  • Cloud patching, Security Updates, and Vulnerabilities remediation
  • Monitoring and alerting in the cloud environments
  • Manage the integration of tasks between business as usual operations and development/extension functions
  • Communicate with vendors, business counterparts in other divisions, peers and management to discuss technical or administrative issues, to reach agreement on overall plans or schedules, or to gain collaboration and participation with Cloud and DevOps objectives
  • Developing/modifying systems to achieve objectives which support technical and business strategies.
  • Scheduling, organising, and planning workload, providing mentoring on DevOps and Azure/Cloud to peers.
  • Designing and establishing work practices relating to DevOps and Azure/Cloud, facilitate change and act as an authoritative reference point for others.

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/IT/Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience with Infrastructure operations or application development, with special emphasis in areas of networking, application services, and distributed computing
  • Proven ability to solve problems with infrastructure and/or application connectivity issues across a complex cloud environment
  • Demonstrated Experience developing automated solutions to deploy infrastructure or applications (PowerShell, VBS, Python, Java, NodeJS, JSON or YAML, ARM, VSTS)
  • Deep understanding of Azure Networking and Security
  • Experience planning, configuration, optimization and deploying Microsoft Azure solutions (IaaS, PaaS, VMs, AD, Automation, Monitor, etc.).
