The Opportunity

The energy industry is at a time of rapid change with the rapid uptake of renewables, substantial cost pressures and the need to support increasing employee and customer expectations around effective use of technology.

Responding to this change, the Evoenergy IT Branch located within ActewAGL’s Business Systems Division are looking for a motivated, dedicated IT professional with a high level business and financial acumen to join our team.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer ActewAGL and the General Manager Evoenergy,

  • You will provide strategic support and leadership in the governance, development, delivery, application and administration of the key information technology systems that support Evoenergy asset and network billing management systems.
  • You will play a pivotal role in working with Evoenergy to respond to these pressures and changes and to ensure that Evoenergy has the stable solutions it needs to operate safely and efficiently
  • Utilising your business and financial acumen skills, you will understand and support Evoenergy strategic direction and will operate with a strong commercial focus to ensure prudent and efficient solutions that are delivered in a capital and resource constrained environment.[SK1]

Key Specifics of the role

  • Manage the Evoenergy IT Branch with a commercial focus, adhering to budget forecasts whilst achieving committed service quality and other outputs;
  • Diligent delivery on key duties of the position; core systems support, system-specific training, information and data quality improvement.
  • Compliance to reporting deadlines and quality standards

To apply for this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a business related degree which includes an IT major
  • Contemporary, high level IT skills (Cloud, Agile, customer experience design technology)
  • Proven experience in asset management, preferably in an asset intensive business
  • Demonstrated experience in information systems and operational technologies, preferably in electricity distribution, transmission or similar industries
  • Understanding of application of analytical skills and techniques to an asset intensive business
  • Proven high level business and financial acumen.
