About the Role:

The expectations for the role are to provide strong and visible HSE leadership across all activities at a large scale construction site. This role will actively support and drive a proactive HSE culture where the philosophy of continuous improvement is embedded within the organisation to improve HSE performance. 

A key focus of this role will be implementing a HSE management system including governance and performance based activities.

In this opportunity you will be required to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and support operations with the development, coordination and implementation of HSE programmes and initiatives to reduce risk, ensure compliance, improve workplace safety and reduce incident rates.

Coupled with the below role requirements you will have the ability to easily manage conflicting business needs and deadlines with confidence in your ability to prioritise accordingly. As an experienced HSE advisor, you will mentor, coach and guide the project team to deliver a high level of customer service to project stakeholders. 

Role Requirements:  

  • Qualifications in Work Health and Safety or related discipline (minimum Diploma level)
  • Formal investigation training (ICAM is preferred)
  • Detailed knowledge of OHS (delete OHS) WHS and/or Environmental legislation and compliance requirements to Australian and International standards and codes
  • Detailed knowledge of HSE and investigation aspects associated with construction work and associated activities (e.g.: systems and processes)
  • Experience with large construction projects or equivalent, preferably in the renewables industry.
