About the team
The Commercial Buildings Policy Team advances the energy efficiency of non-residential buildings through managing and updating existing regulations and developing new Government initiatives. The team undertakes policy analysis and development, prepares briefs and reports, and manages research projects. Important current areas of work include:
Carrying out key measures under the Trajectory for Low Energy Buildings.
Managing, reviewing, and developing the Commercial Building Disclosure (CBD) program. This program mandates the disclosure of energy efficiency ratings.
Implementing commercial buildings measures from the Climate Solutions Package and the measure Improving the Energy and Emissions Performance of Buildings.
Developing and implementing new energy efficiency measures. This assists to reduce costs and emissions for business.
Supporting the development and expansion of the National Australian Built Environment Ratings System (NABERS). We also assist in the development of the National Construction Code.

We are looking to fill APS Level 5 and APS Level 6 Policy Officer roles within the team. We offer exciting and fulfilling work that makes a difference to the Department and Australia’s energy efficiency.
