About the role:

This role is critical in delivering precise and top-tier analysis, forecasting, and advancement of data science specifically tailored for the East Coast wholesale portfolio and markets. Reporting to the Team Leader, Data Analytics this role will unveil pivotal insights, formulate strategies for growth, adeptly manage market risks, and shape the future trajectory. You will continually identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategic solutions.

In this role, you’ll be:

• Analyzing trading across multiple markets and commodities and provide to decision makers in a timely fashion.
• Sustain, automate, and elevate position reporting across diverse markets and commodities.
• Modelling quantitative data in both physical and financial energy markets.
• Consistently evaluate the precision of short and long-term demand forecasts for electricity and gas customers.
• Relaying forecast updates to spot, portfolio analysis, and pricing teams.

Ideally, you’ll bring to the role:

• Robust background in analytics, demonstrating a track record of successful delivery in forecasting and analysis.
• High proficiency in Power BI report development, including data modelling, dashboard creation, and visualization.
• Expertise in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Advanced use of MS Excel, including complex formulae, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
• Proven track record of achieving successful outcomes through collaboration across functions.

This plays a crucial role in our trading and portfolio management business pillar, by delivering insights to a range of key stakeholders, whilst offering career development and growth opportunities.
