Government Relations Advisor, 12 months Fixed Term, relevant experience required

Imagine yourself providing inspiring leadership to the development and implementation of contemporary and technically sound government relations strategies and services to enhance government relationships and support Powerlink in achieving its business goals.

In this 12 month, temporary Government Relations Advisor role you will complement our current communications and advisory team and support the following activities:

  • Develop and implement effective communication and stakeholder relations strategies, focusing on ensuring, building and maintaining effective working relationships at Federal, State and Local government levels.
  • Support the Senior Government Relations Adviser in delivery of stakeholder engagement and coordination outcomes for government-driven policy initiatives including monitoring and providing advice on policy, regulatory and legislative changes which may impact on Powerlink's operations
  • Provide sound and timely advice in the preparation of briefs, communications and recommendations relevant to the Government Stakeholders, Communications team, Executive Team, and Chief Executive to assist with the protection and enhancement of Powerlink's reputation.
  • Participate as a Primary On Call team member in the 24/7 media and government on call roster delivering timely, effective responses to issues and emergencies.

Your overall drive and ambition is to successfully deliver high effective government relations outcomes and building relationships with government stakeholders. Your significant experience in Government Relations advice and stakeholder management is reflected in the success of your effective stakeholder engagement strategies including traditional and social media management and practice that has tangibly enhanced corporate reputation.
