Indigenous Partnerships Advisor
About the role
It is an exciting time to be part of the energy industry and especially at Powerlink, as we help shape the renewable energy transformation in Queensland and Australia. As part of this, we are delivering a number of major projects, including renewable energy developments, across Queensland.
In this newly created role, you will work to ensure that our projects can proceed with awareness, respect and the correct consideration of the Traditional owners of the land on which our projects traverse.
Collaborating with First Nations stakeholders you will be responsible for the development and delivery of strategies and plans related to Indigenous and non-Indigenous heritage management and native title.
You will drive the development of new initiatives and opportunities for First Nations partnerships for training, employment and subcontracting opportunities for First Nations communities.
You will spend a considerable amount of time on working at our project and business locations throughout Queensland and need to drive an off road 4-wheel drive.
Your role plays a part in helping to connect Queenslanders to a world-class energy future, as well as being an important contributor to our RAP principles and goals.
You have established and strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and associated government departments. Your strong knowledge and passion for cultural heritage, Native Title and landholder issues has been utilised in a previous role to deliver community centred outcomes.
You can demonstrate previous successful consultations and negotiations with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups, stakeholders and landowners, that included_ development proposals and drafting and implementing agreements.
Your qualifications will include a degree in archaeology, anthropology, social science or environmental science or related.
