Project Engagement Specialist

Job Summary

Newly created role in the Communications, Customer and Engagement team to support the delivery of key capital projects underway or in the pipeline.

About the role

Powerlink plays a central role in connecting Queenslanders to a new energy future. As part of this, we are delivering a number of major projects, including renewable energy developments, across Queensland. Your role will be to provide targeted, best-practice engagement support to these projects to ensure they are delivered successfully. Your expertise in driving effective engagement with stakeholders will support Powerlink’s social licence and reputation, and your strong knowledge of engagement strategies on major projects will assist in identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with project delivery.

In this role, your strategic project engagement focus will include:

  • Development and implementation of engagement planning that includes in-field delivery, where required;
  • Development and management of goodwill activities and community partnerships;
  • Development of supporting collateral such as project newsletters, web and media materials.
About you

Your experience in stakeholder or community engagement in a previous role is a given, but what is most important is the best-practice engagement skillset you bring with you. You have a toolkit of innovative engagement concepts and strategies.

You have worked in a complex technical organisation and know how to get your head around details quickly. It will also be important for you to be able to travel to the regional communities to provide support where required.

Your qualifications include a degree in Public Relations or a related discipline.

You have developed and led engagement activities aligned with the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) spectrum on high risk and/or high profile projects in a previous role.
