About Us

Enel Green Power entered the Australian market in 2017 as Enel Green Power Australia (EGPA), with the construction of one of Australia’s largest solar plants, Bungala Solar Farm located in South Australia. Our Australian operations now include three solar plants with a consolidated capacity of around 310 megawatts (MW) and 75MW wind farm and 90MW solar farm under construction.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development:

  • Develop or review concept, basic and detailed designs for SCADA, controls and communication systems for renewable plants and interconnection assets.
  • Preparing SCADA & Controls Technical Specifications, Scope of work and detailed design as required, incl. NSP/AEMO requirements and grid registration process.
  • Manage and supervise third party engineers or external design services related to SCADA and control systems.
  • Selecting optimal equipment for site and specific requirements and coordinating with suppliers/manufacturers and contractors as necessary.

Project Execution:

  • Cooperate with Enel’s Owner Engineer to review technical documents issued by external design contractors, consultants and assure full compliance with standards, codes, and technical specifications.
  • Manage and approve any necessary tests related to SCADA/controls equipment (FAT\SAT).
  • Manage and approve SCADA, controls and communication requirements/procedures for Hold Point (R2) Testing during commissioning of renewable plants as per NSP/AEMO guidelines.
  • Manage site inspections for SCADA related equipment during the construction and commissioning phases of projects.
  • Manage network infrastructure integration with Data Center (e.g. firewall policy, IPsec tunnel, VLAN, SDWAN, AEMO Dispatch).
  • Operation plant support (plant remote access management, plant improvement, vendor troubleshooting for plant issues SCADA tags, data, MMS).
  • Support backup and disaster recovery for business continuity (DR site, Veeam backup, CI/CD).

Key Skills

  • SCADA System Expertise – Proficient in designing, implementing and maintaining SCADA systems (5-10 years total experience with at least 3 years within the renewables or energy sector)
  • Controls Engineering Expertise – Strong background in controls engineering with some experience in either wind, solar and BESS projects
  • Project Management – ability to manage and lead SCADA and controls aspects of projects from conception to completion
  • Understanding of renewable energy dispatching processes in the NEM and WEM and associated network and SCADA architecture
  • Communications protocols – understanding  of protocols such as DNP3, IEC61850, Modbus and OPC
  • Cybersecurity – understanding of cybersecurity principals – knowledge of the SOCI Act and Security Profile 1 advantageous
  • Ignition SCADA experience advantageous
  • Substation SCADA and protection relay knowledge advantageous
  • SEL RTAC knowledge advantageous
  • Knowledge and or experience of the design and commissioning of TNSP/DNSP interfaces for energy generators advantageous
  • Understanding of AEMO R2 Testing and associated SCADA/controls elements advantageous
